Alright my fellow writers, it’s a new year, so I’m doing another one of these book promotions to give y’all an opportunity to introduce your work. I know how difficult and trying self promotion can be for a writer, especially when all we really want to do is write. And as I’ve said before, us indie writers really need to be helping each other out when we can.
So have at it…I want to know about you, your book, and where to find it. Please share it in the comment section. Happy New Year!
Hi!

A happy new year, and thank you very much for allowing other authors to advertise their books here.
I just published the English version of my first novel, “Summer of the Gods” (volume 1 of 3 in the Olympian Gods Trilogy) as an Amazon Kindle ebook. If you’re interested in mythology, (urban) fantasy, politics, or society, you can buy it here, depending on your location*:
United Kingdom: http://amzn.to/2itEp3I
United States: http://amzn.to/2iZqHCO
Canada: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01N1Y3F5E/
Germany: http://amzn.to/2iUPwDZ
Here’s the spoiler-free teaser/plot synopsis:
Athens, in the summer of 2015. The negotiations concerning the economy crisis are going on as expected: European Commission, International Monetary Fund, and European Central Bank think as much that they’re right as the Greek participants are sure that these foreign powers don’t really want to help them. The heat is as stale as the debates.
This general deadlock is suddenly disrupted by new players whom no one would have counted in: the Ancient Gods are back!
But what do they even want?
Can people trust them?
Are they really the selfless helpers they pretend to be?
Are they even working together, or against each other?
And what about people’s free will?
The experiences of seven characters build the panorama of this story that takes a look at how an intervention by powerful and mysterious beings can change the world.
A story about power and powerlessness, war und peace, trust and treason, humans and Gods, politics and the economy.

——————————————————-
Seventeen year old Mark Wilkerson has no memory of the fiery crash that killed his family on the Carquinez Bridge… Living with his grandmother and burdened with guilt, Mark vows to find the hit-and-run driver and take his revenge. Now he wants revenge more than ever… Jeff believes Mark is an anti-Vietnam War activist like his cousin Gary—and despises him for it. To make matters worse, when Jeff’s girlfriend Genie Lombardi dumps him for Mark, it kicks Jeff’s hatred for him to a dangerous new level. Lies and threats escalate, until drugs and a shocking death send Jeff over the edge, and his campaign to get Genie back any way he can turns violent. When Mark’s memory begins to return, it leads to a terrifying confrontation. Will he finally prove the identity of the guilty driver? Or will he and Genie become one more tragedy associated with the Carquinez Bridge?

Paul West is a freelance writer and novelist. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Paul claims to be a “Prune Picker,” though he now makes his home in Taylorsville, Utah.
The rustic San Francisco Bay Area countryside, the quaint small town in which he grew up, and the colorful people who once lived there, have all teamed to fertilize his ever-churning mind with stories that are yearning to be told.
From his earliest days in high school, his English teachers saw some raw writing ability in him, both for fiction and non-fiction, and urged him to pursue his dream of being a writer. In college his creative writing professors also encouraged him to mold his ability into a talent.
After settling on a career as an environmental biologist, where he’s written numerous technical publications, the stories swarming through his mind kept crying to get out. So Paul began writing fiction, but only as a hobby at first. He has recently finished his first novel, BRIDGETOWN HIGH, and is working on his second. Paul intends to keep letting his stories out through future novels.
Paul is the originator and former moderator of a private critique known as “The Writer’s Pen,” a sub forum in the “Authors by Design” web site (now defunct). Thanks so much for providing a place for us all to help each other. I enjoy playing basketball (although I’m terrible) and writing children’s and young adult stories, most of them inspired and/or loosely based on the real life adventures of my five crazy kids! Yes, most stories include basketball. And gummy bears or Nutella. My most recently released YA novel is INSPIRITED, and contains dramedy, suspense, action, a paranormal element, and just a touch of romance:
Stalkers and visions and boys. Oh my.
Life as a teenage triplet has suddenly been turned upside down for Cheyenne Hawkins. After surviving a fatal car accident and burying a friend, she is faced with learning to manage her newfound gift- the shocking and sometimes terrifying ability to see the memories of others. Cheyenne wants nothing more than to just be a normal sophomore and continue pitching on her high school team. But with someone sending her threatening messages and watching her, normal is nowhere in sight. Who is stalking her and why? Will she learn how to use her gift in time to prevent the stalker from carrying out the deadly threats? Join Cheyenne and her quirky friends and family as she learns that normal just might be overrated.

Synopsis:
On the day of his birth the dead walked and society crumbled. His mother took one look at him and pronounced him Meat. He survived, she didn’t.
Fourteen years have passed and obscurity means survival in an increasingly dangerous world. For the survivors compound at Bremo Bluff that obscurity is threatened when a savage band abducts a group of children from the compound.
Accompanied by his three friends Window, Einstein, and Billie-Bob, Meat embarks on a quest to rescue the children. A journey that will lead them into adulthood, with a brief detour through the Dreadlands, as they confront the harsh reality of a brutal world beyond the barriers that had served to protect them.
In the dead city of Richmond Meat and his friends will confront a savage cult of children who worship a creature of the night. These creatures, once considered the nightmare imaginings of a fevered mind, are now awake in a world where the population that once served as their food source has been severely reduced.
Awake and very, very, hungry.
Richard is the author of five novels, two novellas, and a collection of short stories with much more on the way. His short work has appeared in a diverse range of publications from Dark Moon Digest to The Backbone Mountain Review. His most recent work includes All Roads Lead To Terror and The Reaping, books one and two in his post apocalyptic coming of age series, The Dreadland Chronicles.
Unlike other writers who knew they wanted to write the moment they became self aware, Richard’s path to taking up the pen followed a more leisurely route.
As a child he wanted to be a fighter pilot, later he thought it would be neat to be a rock star. Unfortunately, as an introvert, he was not suited for the stage. Once he gave up the guitar, much to the relief of his parents, he turned his attention to making movies.

Blurb:
For Blaze Nemasa there is no escape from the nightmares that hunt her. Hope maybe the only one who can save Blaze’s human soul.
Demons lurking in the shadows are only myths, or that’s what Blaze’s parents told their adopted child before she fell asleep. A book of Sin drags her deep into the underworld where Blaze learns the truth about her wicked nature.

Hi Sheila, thanks for the comment. Language can get a bit tricky when we are talking about “disability” related topics. Sometimes people use the language of “mental illness.” But that also gets critiqued, particularly by the community, who may not identify their struggles as “illness” especially in relation to the stigma that surrounds mental health. In the text Patricia identifies with anxiety & depression, so sometimes it is best to say the specific this that a character is confronted with. Thanks again for the feedback!
