Shimmering steel sinisterly seducing shivering skin.
I died tonight
Without much of a fight
Or a fright
For that matter
A last caress
Then a hole
To the chest
A final breath
With half a
On my lips
Happy Wednesday to all my creative people! I’ve been a little negligent in my writing and blog posting, but I’ve been a little busy. Having a baby can be a bit of a distraction to getting any writing done! That’s right, 2 weeks ago today I gave birth to a precious baby boy. At the moment baby Henry is in a milk coma, which is the only reason I’m able to get this posted.
So get the temporary standstill? And that’s okay. A writer needs a break sometimes, whether that break be because of new priorities or just a much needed brain vacation. Guilt doesn’t help the flow of creativity. So I’m taking this time to bond with little Hen and work on my meditation. The book will still be there after my break.
“Mellie’s poems tell a story all on their own, so I chose to compile them together in a book of their own right. I dedicate this book to the lost youth, the misfits, the outcasts, the beaten down and abused…you have a voice.” -S. Sawyer

“And that’s what I did. I cried. And not just over the destruction of a book that could be replaced. I cried for the destruction of me, my sanity. I was those ripped out pages tossed about like nothing.”
